| Plaque Mounting: Mounting & Laminating Your Posters, Prints, Photos, Or Artworks |
Plaque Mounting, also known as Plak mounting, is an inexpensive yet extremely durable way to protect and hang your poster, print, photo, or artwork. The print is dry-mounted onto a sturdy, custom piece of high density pressed wood, then permanently sealed with a clear vinyl matte UV-blocking laminate. The edges of the plaque are then bevelled and coloured. A slot in the back allows for easy hanging on the wall.
With plaque mounting, no framing is required, and there is no glass to break or to produce a glare. The end result is a very durable, eye-catching, easy to clean display solution. Your print will be protected against moisture, UV light, smudges and scratches. The 3/8" wood fibre backing is lightweight, yet durable-perfect for mobile display panels, or prints displayed in high-activity areas.

Artwork is measured, then mounted and laminated to a sturdy, lightweight 1/4" wood-fiber backing. A 1" molding is adhered to the back and inset two inches all around. This technique causes the print to float on the wall - an ideal affect for recessed walls or niches. A 45-degree bevel and choice of trim colour are then applied to the edges. A keyhole groove is routed into the backing for hanging.
